Erasmus Olympic Games

Context of the weekend

One month ago, the ESN (the association in charge of Erasmus students) organized us a sporty weekend: "Erasmus Olympic Games". It is a weekend in which different sports teams (football, basketball, volleyball) meet and play. What we were playing for was high because the winning teams could win a trip to Serbia.

General organization of the weekend

The weekend was taking place in Nymburk, a small town next to Prague, the second weekend of March. The sports complex was huge and could welcome several hundred people, both fans and sportsmen. The price to spend a weekend there was really cheap: 40 euros all inclusive (transport, hotel, meals, unlimited access to the gym ...)

Description of the week-end

So I left the dormitorys with Maureen and 15 other students on Saturday morning at 7 am towards the center of Liberec to take the train. 3 station changes later and a lot of tiredness (big suitcases to hang out) we arrived at Nymburk and then we walked 30 minutes to reach the gymnasium.

On the spot, the receptionists assigned us rooms of three people. A few minutes later we put on our sportswear and reach the sports hall, not only to eliminate the lunch pizza but also to know the schedules of the different games to whom Liberec teams participated.

For my part, I did not play: I just came as a supporter and photographer while Maureen participated in volleyball tournaments. With another Erasmus student, we encouraged our teams by singing "Libeeuuu .... Libeeeeuuu ... .LIBEURETZZ »Because yes, our city does not pronounce "Liberec" with a "c " but rather "Liberetz ".

In the evening we all went to the pool to relax and were in the sauna (mixed sauna). Unfortunately we did not find the Jaccuzi. What the shame ... However we consoled ourselves by organizing a party in the rooms of the hotel and then went to the bar. The evening ended strangely because someone broke the door of one of our rooms, we were afraid to pay a compensation for a stupidity we did not do but everything ended happily for us.

The next day, as I went to bed late, I stayed a little sleep while the others went back to play. Finally, at the end of the day, the judges revealed the official results of the matches. The Liberec football team won !!!! So they won the trip! A Liberec Volleyball team got the second place on the podium (a big chocolate cake as a reward that we eat up quickly).
